Motown Stars Share Love for New Artist

January 24th, 2011

Motown legends from all over the country gathered this week in San Diego to endorse upcoming artist B. Taylor, who was aboard the U.S.S. Midway on Thursday to shoot a music video.

Pete Moore, Claudette Robinson, Martha Reeves and Katherine Schaffner were among those voicing their support as they watched Taylor film his new music video, “One Life to Live.” The set included a baby grand piano set among the planes on the flight deck of the ship.

The young artist expressed his appreciation.

“I never thought I’d be honored by the Motown legends,” Taylor said. “They’re making the movement of passing the torch and bridging the gap to the next generation.”

Pete Moore, who sang bass with Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, was the real force behind the production. He first met Taylor in their neighborhood when Taylor ran up to Moore’s car to give him a demo CD.

“The stuff was sensational,” Moore said. “I discovered he played four different instruments. He reminded me of Stevie Wonder because the Miracles discovered Stevie Wonder.”
