B. Taylor is an accomplished musician that plays four different instruments, the drums, piano, organ and guitar and is a writer, producer, and performer with a diverse background, which includes his roots growing up as the son of a preacher and a church youth choir director in Peoria, IL. B. Taylor has been named “The Stevie Wonder of Hip Hop” and “The New sound of Classic Motown” by Motown Legends Pete Moore, Claudette Robinson (“The First Lady of Motown”) and Bobby Rogers of Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, Katherine Schaffner of the Marvalettes, and Martha Reeves of Martha & the Vandellas. B. Taylor has also garnered the support of Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, and classic Motown legends of the Temptations and the Four Tops. Not since Michael Jackson has this many legends of Motown collectively stood behind a single artist.

B. Taylor’s background, extraordinary talents and extensive list of accomplishments provide him with the ability to cater to numerous fans with varying tastes in music across a vast number of genres including Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel, Rock, and Pop.

Taylor was also a division 1 college athlete and served as a sailor in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Taylor was also a member of the All Navy Team-USA basketball squad. B. Taylor recently became the first musician to ever be approved to shoot a music video aboard a naval aircraft carrier and military base for his single, “One Life to Live”, featuring Claudette Robinson and Evangelist Beverly Broadus-Green (Snoop Dogg’s mother).

B. Taylor recently collaborated with Pauley Perrette (NCIS co-star) on a single titled “Fire In Your Eyes” and is scheduled for release May 3, 2011 through GBR/Bungalo Records, exclusively distributed by Universal Music Group Distribution. B. Taylor’s single, “Let’s Get this Party Started”, featuring Ray J, was the first official release from his forthcoming album, ‘One Life To Live’, which was executive produced by Pete Moore of Smokey Robinson & The Miracles (platinum recording artist, writer and producer of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and others). This is the first time that a legendary classic Motown artist such as Moore has chosen to represent and support an innovative new hip hop artist and produce his album.

Moore’s intention is to bridge the gap between Classic Motown and Hip Hop, creating a new sound for the genre, which is desperately needed according to the feedback from major industry players in radio and in the rap community. The music on the album combines the Motown soulful sound with energetic beats of hip hop, and is appealing to all demographics, an essential element of the Motown music tradition of the past.

Pete Moore labeled B. Taylor “The Stevie Wonder of Hip Hop” the first time he saw him. It reminded him of the 1960’s when the Miracles discovered Stevie Wonder. Pete immediately knew B. Taylor was a standout artist. “Hip Hop is a derivation of Classic Motown and I felt that it would be very exciting to bring the two together, something that has never been done in the 50 year history of Classic Motown,” says Moore.

B. Taylor has performed and appeared in various music and media channels including Billboard – Mobile Entertainment Live!, San Diego; Bum Squad DJz Family Reunion, Las Vegas; The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy aboard the USS H.W. Bush Naval Aircraft Carrier, Norfolk; Diabetes Benefit Concert – Club Nokia, LA; Voice of America, Washington, D.C., Fox News, ABC News, The Insider/Entertainment Tonight.
